Kazakhstan and Czech Republic to cooperate in criminal law sphere

ASTANA. January 30. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan will strike a set of agreements of cooperation in criminal law sphere with Czech Republic and other European countries," Kazakh Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev informed during the meeting with the heads of law-enforcement agencies on combating crime and corruption, drug trafficking and the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens under the chairman of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Criminal Extradition and conviction of fugitive criminals are important for unavoidability of punishment," A, Daulbayev noted.

According to him, Kazakhstan had trouble with the European countries in this area. However, due to the authority of the President and the recognition of Kazakhstan, a full package of agreements on cooperation in criminal matters with Spain was first signed.

"Soon, we will conclude a similar agreement with the Czech Republic and other European countries", A. Daulbaev added.

In addition, daulbayev said that progress on extradition of criminals from Portugal, Romania, and Bulgaria has been made.
