Kazakhstan and European Investment Bank set to expand cooperation
During a working visit to Luxembourg, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu met with Vice President of the European Investment Bank Teresa Czerwińska, Kazinform Agency learnt from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, in particular, the possibility of implementing investment and technological projects in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister noted the interest in attracting funds from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and opening an office in Astana as soon as possible, which can significantly expand the Bank’s investment portfolio and presence in the region. He also called on the EIB to consider the possibility of closer cooperation in the field of “green” financing and the exchange of innovations with the Astana International Financial Center.
The parties agreed to establish a special working group and develop a roadmap for detailed investment cooperation.
