Kazakhstan and European Parliament discussed key points of cooperation

BRUSSELS. January 30. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov met with representative of the European Parliament and discussed a wide range of issues, concerning key points of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Parliament.

The head of Kazakh Foreign Ministry met with Vice President of the European Parliament Othmar Karas and head of the European Parliament's delegation for Central Asia and Mongolia Paolo Bartolozzi.

According to Idrissov, development of a dialog with such an important structure in the European space as European Parliament is an essential ingredient of political dialogue. Full spectrum of interrelation between Kazakhstan and European Union on key points was discussed.

In turn, Vice President of the European Parliament Othmar Karas noted the relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union are developing very well. "I think the most important part of our relationship is a constant, open and honest dialogue, " O. Karas added.

Besides, O.Karas said that various issues of cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan, the situation in Central Asia, cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, Russia, as well as parliamentary development and human rights were discussed during the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan. In addition, such important issues of bilateral cooperation as energy and economy were considered.

"The facilitating the visa regime between the EU and Kazakhstan was also discussed," head of the European Parliament's delegation for Central Asia, Paolo Bartolozzi said in an interview with Kazakh journalists following the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Idrissov.

"In order to develop trade and economic relations and development in Central Asia, we can find ways to ease the visa regime," P.Bartolozzi added.
