Kazakhstan and France agreed to develop joint investment projects
The Kazakh delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister met with the leaders of different economic agencies and companies of France.
There was the 10th meeting of the Kazakh-French interparliamentary commission on economic cooperation.
Representatives of the ministries and agencies, national and private companies, Minister for Foreign Trade of France Nicole Brique, members of MEDEF Association took part in the event.
Key issues aimed at further expanding and deepening of economic ties in the sphere of innovative technologies, technical education and innovations were considered at the meeting. The sides were interested in realization of projects in the spheres of energy efficiency, ecology, transport, automobile manufacturing, agriculture and tourism.
Besides, Asset Issekeshev and Kazakh Ambassador to France Nurlan Danenov attended the regular meeting of Kazakh-French Business Council. The event gathered together more than 100 representatives of French business, who expressed great interest and aspiration to partake in Kazakhstan's different economic fields.
The signing of an agreement between the companies «PSA Peugeot Citroën», «AgromashHolding» and «Allur Auto» to create assembly line of 4 models of Peugeot in Kazakhstan was one of key outcomes of the visit.
Bureau Veritas Company's project, which proposed to introduce a system of management for the Unified handling, integrated into the "single window for trade facilitation' is also of a great interest for Kazakhstan.
France is one of the major investors; its investment in the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to about USD 10 billion, turnover exceeded USD 6 billion in 2012. Over 100 companies with French capital in oil and gas, mining, energy, construction, transport and services are functioning successfully in Kazakhstan. There is currently a "second wave" of new joint projects with large and medium French and Kazakh companies.
