Kazakhstan and France focus on investment dialogue development

The Consul General, Anel Bakytbekkyzy, held a meeting with Jean-Luc Heimburger, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the European Community of Alsace "Alsace Eurometropole," to discuss investment direction issues with Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, several initiatives were mentioned for further enhancing trade, stimulating investment tracks, and emphasizing the role of the Kazakh Consulate General as a guide for local French businessmen.

Discussing the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, manufacturing and trade, the parties agreed on the necessity to increase the level of mutual investments by engaging mechanisms of various platforms, such as investment councils, chambers of commerce, etc.

The diplomat briefed Jean-Luc Heimburger on the priorities outlined by President Tokayev to the Government for further modernization and diversification of the state's economy and Kazakhstan’s approaches to the development of renewable energy sources and the implementation of new natural resource management systems as a significant player in the hydrocarbon market.

In general, it was noted that Kazakhstan is a state with a mass of business opportunities with existing unique conditions, created for foreign investors.

The "Alsace Eurometropole" Chamber of commerce and industry located in Strasbourg, being part of the Grand East CCI represents the interests and encompasses over 100,000 major manufacturers in Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse. The economy of Alsace, which contributes approximately 3% of the state's GDP and ranks 2nd in GDP per capita, is primarily based on the automotive, light, and food industries, metallurgy, winemaking, agriculture and construction.
