Kazakhstan and Italy discussed international treaty framework expanding
ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Iogan Merkel has met with Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan Alberto Pieri, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the General Prosecution Office.
A wide range of bilateral legal cooperation issues has been discussed during the meeting. The parties confirmed their interest in further expanding and strengthening areas of cooperation.
Merkel briefed about the main activities of the General Prosecutor's Office, and noted that the expansion of international legal cooperation in the bilateral format is one of the main components of the Kazakh Prosecution Office.
Besides, the important topic of conversation was the question of expanding the legal framework between Kazakhstan and Italy.
The Italian side expressed readiness to make every effort to sign in the near future intergovernmental agreements on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition and the transfer of prisoners.
