During the Monte Carlo meeting, the leaders of the two countries held negotiations to discuss the problems of political, commercial and economic and investment cooperation.

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Albert II eyed the process of development of bilateral partnership, main directions of which were outlined in the Joint Declaration signed between Kazakhstan and Monaco in November 2012.

The Head of State noted that Kazakhstan considers Monaco as its perspective partner in southern Europe and there are all prerequisites for the expansion of economic and investment interaction.

Higher dynamics of business contacts between Kazakhstan and Monaco after the first official visit of Prince Albert II of Monaco to Astana was noted during the meeting as well.

In its turn, being a part of the Customs Union, Kazakhstan offers wide market perspectives for Monaco businesses.

The President of Kazakhstan and Prince Albert also touched upon the problems and cooperation in the sphere of environment as well as such internationally-renowned initiative of Kazakhstan as the Green Bridge Program and the preparations for the EXPO-2017 event in Astana.

Utmost attention was paid to the cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, given the projects developed in Kazakhstan and Monaco's unique experience in that sphere.

The bilateral negotiations in Monte Carlo also focused on the interaction within the framework of such international organizations as, for example, the United Nations. It was noted that Kazakhstan and Monaco share common stance on many international problems.

Heads of Kazakhstan and the Principality of Monaco exchanged state awards: Prince Albert II of Monaco presented the Order of Saint-Charles to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and, in his turn, the Kazakh President presented the Dostyk Order to his Monegasque counterpart.

Following the meeting, the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the Principality of Monaco signed the cooperation agreement in tourism.
