Kazakhstan and Russia eye boosting railways service and highways
Kazakhstan and Russia concluded an agreement on the joint modernization of railway and road infrastructure and checkpoints on the state border. The sides set to improve transport links and increase freight traffic and synchronize transportation and fulfill action plans, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The parties will work together, coordinate and develop action plans on the development of railway transport infrastructure and road sections running through the nations' territories and railways and road checkpoints; and exchange information in the sphere of transport and transport infrastructure development.
The parties agreed to take coordinated measures to implement roadmaps developed by competent bodies to develop railway service and rail infrastructure, develop road sections in the territories of the two nations, develop vehicle checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Russia state border, develop railway checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Russia state border.
The agreement is effective upon execution.
