Kazakhstan and Thailand to increase number of flights
Aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Thailand held talks on October 26-27 in Bangkok. The Kazakh delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Kazakh Transport Ministry Timur Tlegenov. Sarun Benjanirat, Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, headed the Thai delegation, Kazinform cites the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee.
During the talks, the sides discussed the opportunity to conclude a new inter-governmental agreement on air communication and further increase in number of flights given the growing demand.
Following the talks, a memorandum of mutual understanding was signed increasing the number of flights by 35.4% (from 402 to 544 flights per week), including 84 flights per week between the cities of Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, and Utapao.
The government of Thailand introduce a visa-free regime for nationals of the Republic of Kazakhstan starting from September 25, 2023 through February 29, 2024.
It means Kazakhstanis can enjoy a 30-day visa-free stay in the Kingdom of Thailand. If they want to stay longer, they are required to get an appropriate type of visa.
