Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan set to develop China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor

Kazakh Transport Vice-Minister Talgat Lastayev and deputy director general of the transport and communications agency under the Cabinet of Minsters of Turkmenistan Batyr Annayev co-chaired the first sitting of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan working group on transport, transit and logistics development, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the ministry’s press service.

Those present debated cooperation in the sphere of transport, transit and logistics development, positively assessed activities aimed at creating flexible competitive railway service tariff policy and agreed to continue work in this direction.

Besides, they agreed to jointly develop the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor.

Following the sitting a protocol and a memorandum of transport connectivity were signed by the Kazakh Transport Ministry and the transport and communications agency under the Cabinet of Minster of Turkmenistan. The memorandum is set to expand cooperation between the two states in railway and shipping services.

In Ashgabat, Lastayev also took part in the global conference on sustainable transport development.
