Kazakh Industry and Construction Vice Minister Iran Sharkhan and British Minister of Industry and Economic Security of the United Kingdom Nusrat Ghani signed a roadmap for cooperation in critical minerals in London, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The roadmap signed in London embodies the memorandum of understanding (MoU) concluded to expand cooperation in critical minerals last March as part of the visit of British Foreign Minister James Cleverly to Astana. Critical minerals that include metals and rare earth elements are essential in up-to-date technologies and crucial for national security and economic prosperity.

The roadmap consists of three directions: cooperation in geology, manpower training, and technology transfer.

The Kazakh delegation is also expected to visit British critical minerals processing companies, scientific research and educational facilities to foster cooperation in critical cooperation, and contribute to technology transfer and research cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UK.
