Kazakhstan has elected 40 ambassadors since the inception of MICE Tourism Ambassador Program by Kazakh Tourism in 2021. They’re believed to promote Kazakhstan as the center of business tourism and attract significant international events in the country.
Thanks to joint work of Kazakh Tourism and MICE Tourism Ambassadors, 11 major world events with participation of around 6,000 delegates have been held. The events’ total contribution to the economy made up 8 million US dollars on average.
MICE tourism offers a significant multiplier effect on economic development of our cities. Business events help reduce the impact of seasonality on the tourist market and provide income for tourism entities. The interest of foreign business tourists in Kazakhstan is on the rise. Our country held major world events in the fields of education, geology, sport, tourism and entrepreneurship. Every invested tenge comes back to our economy threefold. The total revenue is made up of overall spending of foreign delegates, with one delegate spent 1,438 US dollars on average when visiting our country. They include rental of premises and hotel stay as well as spending on transport, food and purchase of other services, said Daniyel Serzhanuly, deputy chairman of Kazakh Tourism.
Next year, Kazakhstan is set to bring together delegates from over 140 countries. Kazakh Tourism and MICE Tourism Ambassadors eye three major international events.
