Kazakhstan & Armenia Heads of Governments discuss bilateral coop

ST-PETERSBURG. November 20. KAZINFORM - Today, the Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS countries has carried out talks with the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan.

The round table discussed issues of bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
"I think we need to actively build economic ties between our two countries. We have a lot of potential and we need to increase bilateral trade", said Akhmetov.

According to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the volume of bilateral trade between the two states within the period of January-August, 2013 reached USD 4 million. This is two times higher than in 2012.

erik Akhmetov noted that the capacity of economic ties will contribute to the active work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. During the conversation the parties also touched upon the Armenia's joining the Customs Union. Concerning questions of possible accession of Armenia to the Customs Union, T.Sargsyan told that "the working groups are created, specialists experts are ready to start the corresponding negotiations".

It bears to remind that yesterday in Moscow there was adopted a roadmap for accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the CU.
