Kazakhstan, as SCO member, is taking systematic measures to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking

ASTANA. March 30. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakhstan, as an active member of the SCO, is taking systematic measures to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking. Minister of Internal Affairs Serik Baimaganbetov said it a sitting of SCO agencies on combating illegal drug trafficking in Astana on Wednesday.

Presently, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization provides a consistent decision-making on the most important aspects of law enforcement activities, promotes the full range of mutually beneficial cooperation. A number of multilateral documents on the struggle against drug trafficking has been signed within the framework of the SCO.

"The problem of combating drug trafficking has a transboundary nature. It can be solved only through joint efforts on the basis of practical cooperation and coordinated activities," the Minister noted.
