Kazakhstan attends International Conference on Islamic Banking

The event was held in Manama, Bahrain, on December 7-8; the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in the Saudi Arabia reports.
Making a report at the financial forum opening, Kazakh Minister of Industry and trade Asset Issekeshev noted that Kazakhstan is the first country at the CIS and Central Asian space, which took measures on the Islamic financing development at the legislative level.
Within the framework of the conference A.Issekeshev met with Bahraini Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Abdullah Fakhro and Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza. The sides discussed the issues of development of bilateral cooperation in the trade-economic and investment spheres.
The Kazakh delegation, which includes Vice minister of Finance B.Sholpankulov, Managing Director of the Kazakhstan Development Bank B.Otemurat, representatives of the SamrukKazyna Fund held negotiations with Chairman of the Central Bank of Bahrain Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Adviser of the Bahraini Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Chairman of the Islamic Bank of Asia Abdulla Hasan Saif, heads of the largest Islamic financial institutions on the issues regarding the opening of the Islamic banks.
The agreements reached will allow to implement the idea of the system introduction of the Islamic financial instruments as an alternative source of financing and investments within the framework of the forced industrial and innovation development of Kazakhsatn's economy.
