Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to develop project to export green energy to Europe

Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan agreed to develop technical design specifications and set up a joint venture to export green energy to Europe, Kazinform Agency learnt from the Energy Ministry’s press service.

Energy and economy ministers of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed the corresponding agreement at the meeting in Baku. The meeting focused on debating the prospects of electricity exports from Central Asia to Europe via Azerbaijan.

Following the meeting, the ministers signed a joint communique acknowledging the countries’ potential in the sphere of renewables and their readiness to join the project to electricity from alternative sources to Europe.

The next meeting of energy ministers will be held in Tashkent.
