Kazakhstan backs Canada's idea on holding OSCE-G8 regular consultations

KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Kazakhstan supports the proposal of the Canadian side to hold regular consultations between the OSCE and G8 on the most urgent issues of the world policy. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said at the ceremony of presentation of credentials today.
The Heads of the State noted that next year Canada would chair the Group of Eight. He emphasized successful cooperation with Canada in the spheres of agriculture, urban development, mining. Ambassador of Canada Stephen Millar added that along with cooperation in the field of goods and services the Kazakh-Canadian relations included investments. "Canadian companies are one of the major investors of Kazakhstan's mining industry", the diplomat said at a briefing after the ceremony.
He also expressed hope for earlier signing of an agreement on peaceful application of atomic energy between the two states.
