China is a unique country, which is among the top economic centers of the world and strategic partner of Kazakhstan in tourism promotion. Kazakhstan offers travelers its rich nomad culture, centuries-long history and unique natural landscapes. Coupled with friendship and good-neighborliness, our country is an ideal destination for Chinese tourists as part of the One Belt, One Road initiative, said Yerkinbayev.

According to him, the countries observe the upward trend in mutual tourist flows.

China takes a firm place in the list of top three countries from which the majority of tourists visited Kazakhstan in 2023. It’s encouraging that Kazakhstan, thanks to both countries’ policies, as well as the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China, is becoming a more popular destination for Chinese tourists. According to the date of the global booking systems, this year Kazakhstan has risen to 29th place in the list of countries popular among Chinese travelers. We expect further growth in the flow of tourists from China, noted the Kazakh tourism vice minister.

Yerkinbayev said that both countries hold over 30 events relating to tourist and cultural exchanges as part of the Year of Tourism, adding that the partnership with the Chinese media corporation is among the major and key media projects.

It was an honor for us to invite the film crew of CCTV-4 TV channel to Kazakhstan to create a documentary about our country. It’s encouraging that as a result of joint cooperation the Chinese audience has the opportunity to get familiarized with Kazakhstani tourism, said Yerkinbayev.
