Kazakhstan, Belarus to take CIS chairmanship in 2014 instead of Ukraine

MINSK. KAZINFORM - The chairmanship over the CIS in 2014 will be taken by two co-chairs of the Commonwealth that are currently Belarus and Kazakhstan, said Thursday head of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev at the press conference in Minsk.

Ukraine has decided to cancel its chairmanship over the CIS in 2014. "In such cases, we have a regulatory procedure when other two co-chairs will take temporary chairmanship over the Commonwealth of Independent States," AKI Press cites Mr Lebedev.
