Kazakhstan bids to host ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2027
The International Table Tennis Federation announced it had received a record-breaking number of bids to host the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2027 and 2029, and the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2028, Kazinform News Agency reports citing ittf.com.

Kazakhstan is contending to host the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2027. Other candidates are Brazil, China, USA and France.
China, Iraq, Italy and Japan bid to host the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2029.
As for the year 2028 event, the interested countries are Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Iraq, and USA.
In general, 10 member associations expressed their interest to host the abovementioned championships.
ITTF President Petra Sörling said: “Never before have we seen such a number of bids for the ITTF World Championships. This truly shows how much table tennis has grown. The ITTF has led the way, building unprecedented momentum. I want to thank all the Member Associations who stepped up to support us in this mission. With this incredible list of bidders, there’s no doubt we are setting a strong foundation for the years ahead.”
In October 2024, Kazakhstan's male team achieved historic result at the 27th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships held in Astana. Defeating Iranian athletes with a score of 3-1, the Kazakh team occupied 7th spot at the competition. A total of 24 national teams participated in the event.
