Kazakhstan boasts international reserves of nearly $90 billion

ASTANA. July 23. KAZINFORM The international reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 4.1% from January to July 2013 and amounted to $89.6 billion.

Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev announced the figures in his report on the results of socioeconomic development of the country during the Government meeting on Tuesday.

"The gross international reserves made $26.1 billion and fell by 7.6% since early 2013," Minister Dossayev added.

According to him, this is mainly due to tumble in gold prices. The Ministry also reported that the National Bank's foreign currency assets accounted for $63.5 billion and increased by 9.8% since the beginning of this year.
