Kazakhstan built 40,000 km of roads, Deputy PM
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - During the years of independence Kazakhstan has built 40,000 kilometers of roads, this has been reported by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdybek Saparbayev.
"Within 23 years of independence Kazakhstan has built 40 thousand kilometers of motor roads and a railway with the length of 2,700 kilometers," said B. Saparbayev during a panel session themed "Sustainable development of the Eurasian energy, water and transport potential of Kazakhstan" in the framework of the VIII Astana Economic Forum. He noted that the geographical location of our country is unique. Nowadays the development of transit potential of Kazakhstan became particularly relevant. Thus, Chinese President Xi has initiated the project called "Revival of the Great Silk Road". In turn, President of Kazakhstan has showed initiative in the construction of a railway with the length of 2700 kilometers which will connect Asia and Europe.
