Kazakhstan can export over 2 thousand MW of electricity
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The maximum energy export potential of Kazakhstan is over 2 thousand megawatts, deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Askhat Bekenov told at the CCS media briefing.
"The export potential of Kazakhstan in terms of electricity varies from 1350 MW to 2100 MW," A. Bekenov said.
As he noted, the potential sales markets of Kazakhstan are Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and later Kazakhstan will be able to export electricity through Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.
"As of today, the main consumption falls at Kyrgyzstan and Russia," A. Bekenov specified.
According to the deputy, the investments in the power sector will make 178 bln tenge in 2015.
