Kazakhstan-China relations based on strong ties of friendship, common history and good neighborliness, President Tokayev

President of China Xi Jinping will attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana and pay state visits to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan at the invitation of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. On the eve of the visit the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, gave Xinhua Agency a written interview, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

The Head of State said Kazakhstan highly appreciates its close partnership with China. The relations between the two countries are based on strong ties of friendship, common history and good neighborliness. In September 2022 Presidents of China and Kazakhstan launched a new “golden 30th anniversary” of bilateral cooperation.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted that China’s leader will visit Kazakhstan in his first trip overseas since the coronavirus pandemic. It once again proves the priority of relations with Kazakhstan in Beijing’s foreign policy.

Recalling Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said he visited China three times since last year to take part in key events such as the Central Asia - China Summit in May 2023, the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation last October, and the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in March this year.

The President stressed development of personal ties gives an important impetus to the deepening of bilateral cooperation and unveiling new horizons in the relations between the two countries. Friendly and trust relationships established between the two nations contribute to achieving bigger goals.

The Head of State stressed he highly praises meetings with President of China Xi Jinping. The Presidents debate pressing issues and prospects for strengthening eternal multilateral strategic partnerships and share views on the situation in the world in an open and trustworthy atmosphere.
