Kazakhstan, China to boost capacity of Nur Zholy vehicle checkpoint
Customs services of Kazakhstan and China agreed to boost capacity of Nur Zholy vehicle checkpoint by introducing 24/7 operation mode and prolonging other checkpoints’ operating time to 12 hours, Kazinform News Agency reports via the state revenues committee.
Nur Zholy is the largest vehicle checkpoint on the Kazakh-Chinese border.
The introduction of Qoldau electronic platform enabled to significantly reduce the border crossing time from Kazakhstan, while the process of issuing permits by China has been automated, the committee says.
As the committee informed, revenues from customs payments and taxes in 10 months of 2023 made 3.3 trillion tenge, while VAT on imports from third countries increased by 36% and made 1.5 trillion tenge, which is 100 billion tenge more against 2022.
According to the committee, 10 checkpoints on the Kazakh-Chinese, Kazakh-Uzbek and Kazakh-Turkmen border are being modernized and upgraded.
