Kazakhstan-China trade turnover hit $33bn in 2024

In the first 10 months of 2024, the ASEAN, EU countries, the USA and South Korea were the main trade partners of China, the data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC) revealed, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to the statistics, the trade turnover of China with the ASEAN countries stood at 5.67 trillion yuan (nearly $800bn) with an increase of 8.8%, with the EU – 4.64 trillion yuan (+1.2%), with the USA – 4.01 trillion yuan (+4.4%) and with South Korea – 1.91 trillion yuan (+6.7%).

In general, China’s total trade turnover was up 5.2% to stand at 36.02 trillion yuan (around $5trl) in the first 10 months of the year, with the export rising by 6.7% and the import – 3.2%.

According to the General Administration of Customs of China, in 9 months of 2024, Kazakhstan and China traded goods for 33 billion US dollars.

To note, the Kazakhstan-China trade turnover stood at 41 billion US dollars in 2023.

On November 5, Prime minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov discussed with Li Qiang, Premier of China's State Council, promotion of trade and economic relations. The Kazakh Prime minister highlighted that Kazakhstan is ready to enhance trade and increase the export of value added goods worth $1.6bn.
