Kazakhstan chooses regions suitable for nuclear power plant construction

The two-day conference will be dedicated to a spectrum of relevant topics, in particular the creation of nuclear power plants of new generation and the security of nuclear energy.
Kazakhstani energy experts call for the construction of a nuclear power plant on the territory of the country. Three most suitable regions for construction have already been named, including Kurchatov which boasts necessary infrastructure and specialists with hands-on experience.
But, first and foremost, it is crucial to explore both successful and negative experience in this respect of such countries as the U.S., European countries and Japan, especially the Fukushima 1 nuclear disaster.
An annual working meeting of the Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) is also expected to take place within the conference.
