Kazakhstan citizen accused of stealing $340.000 extradited from Armenia

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today the Prosecutor General's Office jointly with the interior office have extradited from Armenia the citizen of Kazakhstan Araik Aivazyan wanted by prosecution service of Kyzylorda region for fraud committed in a large scale, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

A.Aivazyan is accused of the theft of budget funds in the amount of 62 501 620 tenge during the repair of roads in Aralsk city in 2011 as an executive director of a construction company. During the investigation he escaped from the country.

After his arrest in September 2014 in Yerevan, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan sent a request for his extradition.

Investigation is underway.
