Kazakhstan closed 5 underperforming universities in 2014
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - 5 underperforming universities were closed in Kazakhstan in 2014, Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov announced at a press conference on Monday.
"We continue to close universities or colleges that show poor results. For instance, 5 underperforming universities were closed in 2014. Presently there are 126 higher education institutions in Kazakhstan," Minister Sarinzhipov told the press conference at the Central Communications Service at KazMedia Center. He added that 109 new schools are to be commissioned in the country this year. These schools will replace the ones that are in advanced state of disrepair.
