Kazakhstan committed to course of regional integration - N. Nazarbayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is committed to the course of expansion of external economic relations and regional integration, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev told at the meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Kazakhstan.

The President reminded that the agreement on establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union came into force on January 1, 2015. According to him, an economic association with a truly strong potential and developed transport and energy systems has been established in Eurasia for the first time.

"I would like to note that the principles of sovereignty, economic pragmatism, equality and transparency serve as the foundation of the EEU," the Leader of the Nation noted.

"Besides, the fact that many countries have already expressed their interest in cooperation with the EEU means a lot," the President stressed.

Besides, the talks of Kazakhstan with the European Union on the new agreement on expansion of partnership and cooperation successfully concluded.

"We expected Kazakhstan will join the WTO in 2015. It will help us to increase the volume of external trade," N. Nazarbayev concluded.
