Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for foreign investors and technologies - N. Nazarbayev
'I have just visited the exhibition, familiarized with prospects of our cooperation and met with heads of the world's largest companies. We have discussed issues of cooperation and prospects in realization of several projects. Those projects that I was shown cost more than USD 4 bln. This is a breakthrough that has been achieved thanks to our meetings with President Nicolas Sarkozy', N. Nazarbayev noted during the Kazakh-French business forum.
The Head of the State noted that Kazakhstan had always been interested in development of cooperation with France. 'Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for foreign investors and technologies to come to the country. We have achieved a lot in this regard', the Head of State added.
N. Nazarbayev referred to the data of the World Bank, in accordance with which Kazakhstan moved 25 positions up in the rating among the countries with favorable investment conditions. Besides, the President said that France had attracted USD 3 bln investment funds over the period from 1997 to 2007. However, the amount of French investments to Kazakhstan made USD 3.2 bln for the last two years.
In whole, the President noted that 'present conditions created by our countries allow us to speak about greater cooperation between the two countries.'
