Kazakhstan develops app as part of pharmaceutical origin labelling
Kazakhstan developed the Naqty Onim mobile app, which provides full information about any pharmaceutical through the unique digital code Data Matrix placed on packages, Kazinform News Agency cites Jibek Joly TV channel.
The app, developed as part of the country’s efforts to introduce labelling of products in the country, is available for download for free through the scan code Data Matrix on the package.
The mobile app provides full information about the pharmaceutical from description to shipment. This includes information about the manufacturer and distributors, said Anar Karibayeva, head of the project on labelling of pharmaceuticals in Kazakhstan.
Data Matrix codes are added as part of mandatory labelling of all pharmaceuticals the country introduced on July 1, 2024.
In case of absence of a Data Matrix code or scanning failure, a complaint can be filed, which will be sent to the authorized bodies immediately as the program is integrated with the E-otinish platform.
