Kazakhstan expects great achievements in 2011 - Mukhamedzhanov
ASTANA. March 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ In 2011 Kazakhstan is expecting very important achievements. Majilis Chairman Ural Mukhamedzhanov has said it at a holiday meeting dedicated to the Nauryz meiramy.
"2010 was very important year for Kazakhstan. We overcame the global crisis without losses, our GDP increased by seven percent. Last year we witnessed a major political event. We chaired the OSCE and carried out the Summit of this Organization in Astana, which has not been conducted for 11 years," U.Mukhamedzhanov said.
According to him, the current year will be significant for our country as well. Kazakhstan presides over the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; it will be a chair of the Organization of the Islamic Conference soon. In April the chairmanship in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkish-speaking countries will move to Kazakhstan, in May - in the EurAsEC Parliamentary Assembly.
