Kazakhstan eyes training schoolers in AI and critical thinking
It was said by the country’s Digital Development Minister Zhasslan Madiyev, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Speaking at a briefing, Madiyev noted that the Digital Development Ministry works on a number of educational initiatives, encompassing a wide range of disciplines, including AI, 3D modelling, programming, graphic design and generative artificial intelligence.
The minister highlighted that such initiatives are set to be launched at the International Center for AI next year.
Madiyev went on to add that during the visit of Armenia’s President the agreement was signed with the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, well-known in France, Switzerland and other countries. The initiative, covering creativity and critical thinking, is to launch in Kazakhstan in 2024.
Kazakhstan was the first Central Asian country to open the peer-to-peer AI school - Tomorrow School, established together with the French founder of Ecole 42 School.
This school has no teachers, with students solving problems through the project-based approach and teach each other. The content on AI was specially developed for the school. We seek to expand the project across the country as well as into the neighboring countries, said Madiyev.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan is to develop educational programs and courses on AI.
