Kazakhstan, France debated tourism cooperation issues

UST KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Francis Etienne has met today in Ust Kamenogorsk with the authorities of the East Kazakhstan region. The parties debated further framework for broadening cooperation in the sphere of economy, tourism and culture, the governor's information centre said.

According to Governor of the region Berdybek Saparbayev, the region is ready to establish cooperation in areas such as healthcare, education and culture and present projects to boost mutual ties. "I have arrived here, first of all, to work and I would like to establish strong partnership in the field of industry," the French ambassador said. He also stressed that many French entrepreneurs express interest in tuning up mutual benefit relations with Kazakhstan. 50 French companies and Kazakh Ambassador Nurlan Donenov will meet September 1 in Paris to discuss cooperation projects of the East Kazakhstan region and France. An intergovernmental commission with participation of two ministers will be held on October 17 in Astana. Besides, the Presidents are expected to meet on December 5. Following the results of the meeting the French ambassador proposed to select a candidate for honorary consul for France for East Kazakhstan.
