Kazakhstan, Germany enjoy strong friendship, says Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev revealed what issues were under discussion during his private meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

The Head of State of Kazakhstan highlighted that this is the first official visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to the country.

We attach particular importance to this event. I’m convinced that today’s meeting will elevate the multifaceted interaction between Kazakhstan and Germany to a new level, as the two countries enjoy mutual trust, strong friendship. We have just discussed the issues of further enhancing bilateral relations in a small composition. Special attention was placed to greater integration in the field of trade, economy and investments, said the Kazakh leader.

The both leaders also discussed the pressing global issues.

An exchange of views, especially in relation to the ongoing geopolitical situations, global security and regional development as well as climate change, took place. We also discussed our contacts within international organizations. Our bilateral relations are being developed in a spirit of strategic partnership. I hope that extended talks will contribute to their expansion, said Tokayev.

Earlier it was reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz at the presidential palace Akorda.

It is expected that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is to take part in the second Summit “Central Asia + Germany,” set to discuss strategic cooperation and partnership in a wide range of areas, including trade and economic interaction and realization of joint investment projects.
