Kazakhstan has 79 medals and ranked 5th at Asian Games

The Games in Guangzhou marked a new stage of sport in Asia. During 16 days around 10 thousand sportsmen from 45 countries and regions of Asia were participating in the Games. 3 world records were set, 15 top Asian results were achieved and there were 27 Asian Games records set. Representatives from 29 countries became gold medal winners and sportsmen from 36 countries won medals.

President of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said at the closing ceremony that these Asian Games were incredibly great. They had become a precious part of the history of the Asian Games.

The flag of the Asian Olympic Committee was handed over to South Korea where the 17th Asian Games are to be held.

Kazakhstan has become 5th in team medal standings at the Games with 79 medals: 18 gold, 23 silver and 38 bronze medals.

China is 1st (416: 199-119-98), South Korea is 2nd (232: 76-65-91), Japan is 3rd (216: 48-74-94), Iran is 4th (59: 20-14-25), India is 6th (64: 14-17-33).
