Kazakhstan has two major gold deposits - President of the Academy of Mineral Resources Bekzhanov
"Our country has two major gold deposits which reserves contain more than 500 tons of precious metal. The deposits are named "Bakyrchik" (East Kazakhstan region) and Vasilkovskoye (Akmola region). Due to these fields, we can complete the task of the head of state and bring the level of gold production to 70-100 tons per year", said the president of the Academy of Mineral Resources, the first vice-president of the International Academy of Mineral Resources Ginayat Bekzhanov. According to his words, because of these two fields Kazakhstan may produce 80 tons of gold per year. Thus, if gold production level of the two fields reaches 60 tons per year, remaining 40 tons may be balanced from the existing small deposits of the country. Nowadays Kazakhstan has about 80 explored deposits of gold. The symposium will last until March 14.
