Kazakhstan hauls 13 medals at 10th Asia-Pacific Deaf Games
Kazakhstani athletes claimed 13 medals, including four gold, six silver and three bronze ones, at the 10th Asia-Pacific Deaf Games, held on December 1-9, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Andrey Samarin (65kg), Zhakssylyk Dossymzhan (67kg) and Khairatkhaan Shoku (125kg) brought Kazakhstan gold medals in the men's freestyle wrestling event.
Kazakhstan's Nursultan Duissembiyev (61kg), Gassyr Turgynbay (72kg), Adilet Zhambyl (72kg), Shyngyskhan Aldibayev (86kg) and Abdirkhman Osspanov (92kg) claimed men's freestyle wrestling silver.
Freestyle wrestler Nikolai Rublevskiy (57kg) of Kazakhstan settled for bronze, while Askar Ushkempirov took the fourth place.
Kazakhstan's men's judo squad of Yersin, Bolatoy (-73kg), Shadiyar Kuandyk (-73kg), Yerkebulan Kanafin (-90kg), Aidos Tugelbayev (-90kg), Toktarbek Aidarbek (+90kg) and Sabirzhan Khapizoy (+90kg) finished atop the overall standing.
On the women's side, Kazakhstan was placed second, with Feride Kara ogly (-57kg), Aigerim Abishova (-57kg), Anastasiya Timoshenkova (-70kg), Oryngul Serikbek (-70kg), Anna Kramova (+70kg) and Olga Garayeva (+70kg) representing the country.
Kazakhstani Balzhan Zhumagaziyeva and Sultan Kozhakhmetoy claimed bronze in women's and men's classic chess events, respectively.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan’s Malika Yermek, Alina Azhgaliyev, Yana Khan, Olga Tikhonova snatched the bronze medal in the women's 3,000-metre relay at the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Tour competition held on December 6-8, 2024, in Beijing, China.
