Kazakhstan highly values friendly relations with Armenia, President Tokayev
The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Armenia held talks today in Astana, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
The Head of State said Kazakhstan is keen to elevate cooperation between the two states to a new level.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that agreements achieved today will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties. He said Kazakhstan attaches great significance to regular high-level meetings that lay a solid foundation for the Kazakhstan-Armenia partnership. Kazakhstan highly values friendly relations with Armenia. Armenia is Kazakhstan’s reliable close partner. The nations enjoy strong friendship and have a common history and cultural and humanitarian values.
The Head of State noted this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
Besides, he said the countries also established cultural and humanitarian ties between the nations. The Days of Kazakh Theatre were held in Erevan last year. Next year the Decade of Culture of Kazakhstan will take place in Armenia.
The Presidents are expected to unveil today the Days of Culture of Armenia in Kazakhstan.
In his turn, the President of Armenia thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome. He expressed confidence that friendship and relations between the two states will be longstanding since they have historical roots. He said Kazakhstan is a reliable and friendly partner of Armenia.
During the talks, the parties debated prospects for strengthening cooperation in trade and economic, transport and logistics, agrarian, financial cultural and humanitarian spheres and digitalization, and regional and international agenda.
Days of Culture of Armenia in Kazakhstan are to be held on October 15 and 16 in Astana.
