Kazakhstan Human Rights Action Plan has no analogues in CA - Human Rights Commission Chairman

ASTANA. December 2. KAZINFORM. /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakhstan National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 adopted on May 5, 2009 has no analogues in the CIS, Baltic and Central Asian states. Chairman of Human Rights Commission under the President of Kazakhstan Saginbek Tursunov said it at the meeting with students of Kazakh Humanitarian Law University in Astana today.

"International organizations, human rights NGOs, the UN and OSCE appreciate the National Plan of Kazakhstan", he noted.

S. Tursunov stressed that the plan was presented in the regions and some foreign countries. For instance, during the presentation in Warsaw the Human Rights Bureau highly appraised it.

The issues of realization of constitutional human rights and freedoms in Kazakhstan, improvement of the national human rights mechanisms were discussed at the meeting with the students.
