Kazakhstan interested in attracting Chinese investment in high-tech industries - Senate Speaker
ASTANA. December 21. KAZINFORM Kairat Mami, Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, has received Chairman of the National Political Consultative Council of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Askhat Kerimbay; the Senate's press service told Kazinform.
The sides discussed the issues of strengthening Kazakh-Chinese bilateral relations. K. Mami emphasized the high level of strategic partnership between the two states. According to him, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region accounts for about half of the total volume of Kazakh-Chinese trade. "Kazakhstan is interested in attracting Chinese investment in high high-tech industries, development of processing industries," the Senate Speaker stressed.
A. Kerimbay congratulated Kazakhstan on the 20th anniversary of independence and called for further development of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two states.
He invited K. Mami to pay official visit to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at any convenient time.
