Kazakhstan-Iranian trade turnover increased four times: Iranian Ambassador

KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ ?Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran increased four times during the last years?, Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ramin Mehmanparast has said today in Almaty within the celebration of the 30 anniversary of Islamic Revolution in Iran, Kazinform reports.

According to the diplomat, at the end of 2008 the turnover amounted to USD 3 bln, and now there is a task to increase it by USD 10 bln. As the Ambassador noted, Kazakhstan is a big strategic partner for Iran. Economic cooperation between the countries is conducted in different spheres: oil-and-gas industry, transportation of cargos, etc. As representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry in Almaty Eldar Kunayev noted, close cooperation between Astana and Teheran is developing within the framework of different international and regional organizations. Kazakhstan praised hopes for Iranian support at the Session of World and Traditional Religions. It will allow to establish the regional forum for dialogue and foundation for cultural security.
