Kazakhstan is committed to oil output cuts under OPEC+ agreement

Kazakhstan once again reaffirmed its commitment to the OPEC+ Agreement following the 58th meeting of the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee that took place via videoconference on February 3, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Energy Ministry of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, Kazakhstan is to take the necessary measures in 2025 and 2026 to fulfill its obligations and compensate its overproduction volumes last year.

Despite the increase in oil production this year due to the launch of the Tengiz oil field expansion project, Kazakhstan reaffirms the importance of complying with its OPEC+ obligations and will negotiate with partners within the framework of international law, informed the ministry.

As earlier reported, OPEC+ had extended its oil production agreement until 2026.
