Kazakhstan is locomotive of cooperation at expert level in Central Asia - V. Paramonov

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The sitting of Eurasian Network of Experts was held in Almaty recently. The sitting was focused on joint search of the solutions for global challenges and risks arising in the world.

Besides, the international experts choose Kazakhstan as a venue on purpose to express the gratitude to our country for its great contribution to development of international relations and its practical role in establishment of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Leading experts of Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took part in the forum. They emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan in establishment of the constructive relations with different countries including those that are generally considered the sources of tensions in the region. Associate professor of Moscow State Institute for International Relations Ivan Safranchuk thinks that Kazakhstan has a peacekeeping position in terms of many international issues.

"Kazakhstan is the only country in Central Asia that has its own concept on a number of global problems including nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation," the scientist said.

Director of the Center for Strategic and Foreign Policy Studies of Belarus Arseny Sivitsky reminded that it was Astana that proposed to hold the talks in the Normandy format. It was Kazakhstan that managed to arrange the negotiation process between the leaders of France and Russia. This fact shows the international authority of the state.

"As long as Kazakhstan plays such a valuable role in the Central Asian region and in the CIS space, the attention of the world community is fixed on the elections taking place soon in Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the situation is stable and peaceful despite what happened in the neighboring states," A. Savitsky added.

The geopolitical instability caused by the situation in Eastern Europe requires a response. On the initiative of the EEU member states, the special anti-crisis plan has been approved. In this regard, the scientists told about the strategic program "Nurly Zhol" initiated in Kazakhstan, which is aimed at overcoming of the consequences of the global financial crisis. The program is presently studied by the experts, because the role of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian space is immense.

Head of the analytical project called Central Eurasia Analytic Group Vladimir Paramonov emphasized that Kazakhstan had always had many ideas and initiatives. According to him, the country has turned into an effective dialogue platform used for discussion of current issues of development of the region and Eurasia in general.

V. Paramonov also added that Kazakhstan was a locomotive in cooperation at the expert level in Central Asia, because expert assessment and studies are an essential part of all the initiatives.
