My daughter-in-law is Kazakh - Tedros Ghebreyesus
Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Ghebreyesus named President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev his co-father-in-law, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Speaking at the international conference dedicated to the 5th anniversary of Astana and 45th anniversary of Alma-Ata declarations on PHC, Tedros Ghebreyesus named Kazakhstan his country and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev his co-father-in-law. He also said he is greatly honored to come back to Kazakhstan.
Tedros Ghebreyesus explained that his daughter-in-law is Kazakh, and two his grandchildren are to some extent Kazakhs. Therefore, he views Kazakhstan as a part of himself, and he feels being a part of Kazakhstan.
The WHO Director General said that he is the co-father-in-law of famous Kazakh poet and leading aitys singer Zhurssin Yerman.
