Kazakhstan knocks out Uzbekistan, Great Britain and Russia to win int'l boxing tournament

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - People who have bought tickets to see Kazakh boxers in the tournament of four countries in Astana city have gotten more than their money's worth.

In the final bouts against Russia, Kazakhstani boxers were fairly successful beating their opponents 7:3.

Birzhan Zhakipov (49kg category), Kairat Yeraliyev (56kg category), Zakir Safiullin (60kg category), Sagadat Rakhmankulov (69kg category), Dauren Yeleusinov (81kg category) and Anton Pinchuk (91kg category) excelled at the tournament and helped Kazakhstan win.

It were Yerlan Tamemov (52kg category), Almasbek Alibekov (64kg category) and Rustam Svayev (75kg category) who sustained defeats from Russian punchers.

Earlier in the tournament, Kazakhstan sent home Uzbekistan (7:3) and Great Britain (8:2).
