Kazakhstan, Kuwait eye greater trade and economic ties
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah had a meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, Akorda reports.
The Kazakh leader highlighted the importance of Kuwait for Kazakhstan in the Arab world.
President Tokayev pointed to sustainable development of bilateral political dialogue and economic interaction, confirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Kuwait. The Kazakh leader also expressed confidence that Kuwait has potential to become one of the major investors in the Kazakh economy, pointing to successful work of Kuwaiti companies in Kazakhstan.
The interlocutors agreed to step up trade and economic ties with a focus on joint investment projects.
During the meeting, special attention was placed to multilateral groupings, including the GCC-Central Asia Summit.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended an invitation to Amir of Kuwait Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to visit Kazakhstan.
