Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan agree not to politicize water, transport and logistics issues

The heads of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed not to politicize water, transport and logistics issues, Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu said following his talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart in Bishkek, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

The Kazakh Foreign Minister noted that the talks featured detailed discussions of the accumulation of transport at the border checkpoints and movement of goods and services between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

While discussing the weather, transport and logistics issues, me and my colleague agreed not to politicize such issues, and to take concrete measures, practical steps to assist our citizens, business and carriers of the two countries as brotherly nations. This will meet the true interests of our fraternal nations, said Nurtleu.

According to him, to maintain the upward trend in the development of new ties Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed to take every effort for speedy launch of the industrial trade and logistics complex at the border of the two countries near the checkpoints Karasu and Ak Tilek.

In addition, the Kazakh side confirmed its readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in such priority sectors such as water management and agriculture, energy, digitalization, and transit and transport. In particular, Kazakhstan is ready to implement initiatives to train health personnel, diplomats, as well as projects to provide the internet to the remote areas of Kyrgyzstan through KazAID.
