Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan reaffirm commitment to close cooperation within multilateral structures

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation within the framework of such multilateral structures as the UN, SCO, OTS, CIS, CSTO, CICA, as well as to provide mutual support in promoting the two states’ international initiatives, Kazinform News Agency reports.

This was stated at the meeting of the Kazakh, Kyrgyz foreign ministers - Murat Nurtleu and Jeenbek Kulubayev - held in Astana.

The foreign ministers elaborated on the development of regional cooperation, joint efforts to strengthen peace and stability in Central Asia, and interaction within the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

In this context, the sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen inter-ministerial interaction, including within the Council of Foreign Ministers and the 2024-2026 Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan adopted last year.

Previously, it was reported that Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubayev arrived in Kazakhstan for his first official visit. He was also received by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
